Funeral services for Jesse Vernon Shaw Jr. will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Schreurs officiating and burial following in the Sawyer Cemetery.
J.V. Shaw passed away on Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Norman Specialty Hospital at the age of 67. J.V. Shaw was born March 19, 1942 in Amarillo, Texas, the son of Jesse Vernon Shaw Sr. and Velma Lee (Atkinson) Shaw. He married Susie Songer on October 10, 1963 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He had lived in the Oklahoma City area since 1960 and retired as a brick layer after working for many years in construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
J.V. is survived by his wife: Susie Shaw of the home in Norman, OK; one son: Ricky Don Shaw and wife Wendy of Dallas, TX; one daughter: Tammy Sinor and husband Wade of Seminole, OK; one brother: Don Shaw and wife Nelda of Idabel, OK; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, October 30, 2009 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel.
