Funeral services for Ross Pelt will be held on Monday, February 14, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Ronnie Payne officiating, and burial will follow in the Sawyer Cemetery. Ross passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, in Hugo, OK at the age of 75.
Ross E. Pelt was born July 28, 1935, in Garvin, Oklahoma, the son of Ross W. and Lilliah (Standfield) Pelt. He married Rosie Ensley in Altus, OK, October 25, 1957. Ross worked at the Wells Lamont Glove Factory, as a logger in the Timber Industry. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ross was also known as a hard working self made man, his philosophy "if he couldnt fix it, you better throw it away".
He is preceded in death by his Parents, three sisters, and one son David Wayne.
Ross is survived by his wife, Rosie Pelt of the home; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Edwin and Glexy Pelt of Rogers, Arkansas, Alan and Sandra Pelt of Hugo, OK; two daughters and son-in laws, Vicki and Ronnie Payne of Paris, Texas, Paula and Wayne Dickson of Bossier City, LA; one brother, Lorenzo Pelt of Headrick, OK; 16 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren.
