Services for Lorene Ussery, 87, of Dallas, who passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at 9:10 a.m., in Dallas, will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Mead Baptist Church in Silo. Rev. Kerry Groce will officiate.
Lorene was born Dec. 17, 1921, in Woodville to Early and Mattie (Golden) Lamar. She married Marcus Ussery on Dec. 13, 1941, in Durant.
Lorene was in the occupation of food preparation. She was a charter member of Mead Baptist Church and loved crocheting, sewing and cooking for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Charlie, Homer, Alpha and Herbert Lamar and sisters Irene Broyles-Lee, Pearl Lamar, Earline Anderson and Opal King.
Lorene is survived by her husband of the Dallas home, son Walton Ussery and wife Mary of Dallas, sister Pauline Ditzell and husband Robert Trumansberg, New York, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at Restland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Roger Broyles, Wayne Broyles, Lewis Broyles, Gene Grounds, Kenny King and Walton Ussery.
Family hour is today at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m.
Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
