Funeral services for Marshall Smith will be held on Monday, November 8, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Boswell Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Witt and Rev. Dean Young officiating and burial following in the Restland Cemetery.
Marshall passed away Friday, November 5, 2010, in Paris, Texas, at the age of 81. Marshall Smith was born July 8, 1929, in Boswell, Oklahoma, the son of Eric and Dixie (Holder) Smith.
He married Mary B. Pillars on December 23, 1949, in DeQueen, Arkansas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Boswell, the Boswell School Board and various other Ag Committees. He was a rancher and enjoyed working with cattle. He loved listening to gospel music; spending time with his friends at Choctaw Nation Senior Citizen Center and his family was an important part of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Wendy Lynn; one brother, Pete Smith; three sisters, Lila King, Sally Savard, Barbara Mixon; one niece, Karen Kelsoe.
Marshall is survived by his wife, Mary Smith of the home; three sons, Marshall Smith Jr. of Durant, OK, Ronnie Smith of Boswell, OK and Gary Smith and wife Denise of Boswell, OK; one daughter Linda Woolbright of Boswell, OK; five grandchildren, Kevin Smith of Lewisville, TX, Scott Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, Cole Smith and wife Jamie of Kolleen, TX, Dalton Smith of Bowell, OK, Lindsey Smith of Durant, OK; three great-grandchildren, Tristan Smith, Skyla Smith, Shyla Smith; brother-in-law, Denvil "Pete" Mixon; two special friends, Keith & Kylie Edge.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK.
