Funeral services for Neil Parker will be held Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Boswell First Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Witt and Rev. Dean Young officiating and burial following in the Restland Cemetery in Boswell, OK.
Neil Parker, age 68, of Boswell, OK died Thursday, May 7, 2009 in Hugo, OK. Neil was born on April 15, 1941 in Monroe, Louisiana, the son of Thomas Neil and Dorothy (Farmer) Parker Sr. He was raised in the Boswell area graduating from Boswell High School in 1959. He served in the National Guard and Army Reserves for five years. Neil moved to Shreveport and worked as an Architect Draftsman for 20 years, and in 1979 moved back to Boswell, OK where he became an Insurance Agent for American Farmers and Ranchers Insurance and had worked for 21 years before his retirement.
Neil married Jo Ann Jackson in Boswell on October 4, 1984. Neil was a member of the Boswell First Baptist Church and loved to play his guitar and sing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one step-grandson: James Lindamood; one niece: Kimberly Parker; and one nephew: Wes Parker.
Neil is survived by his wife: Jo Ann Parker of the home; two brothers: Johnny Parker and wife Devie of Hugo, OK, David Parker and wife Tena of Lake Charles, LA; three step-children: Ken Anderson and wife, Jackie of Mesquite, TX, Charles Anderson of Allen, TX and Kaina Anderson of Boswell, OK; four step-grandchildren: Jason Lindamood and Karl Lindamood both of Boswell, OK, Gary Rogers and Laura and Aaron Williams all of Mesquite, Texas; two step-great-grandchildren: Abigail Lindamood of Boswell, OK, Austin Rogers of Mesquite, Texas; two nephews and spouses: Todd and Kendra Parker of Tuttle, OK, Michael and Ashley Parker of Lake Charles, LA; one niece: Sarah Parker of Lake Charles, LA; numerous cousins and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 8, 2009 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo, Oklahoma.
