Funeral services for Katheryn Thora Wyatt will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, OK with Pastor Eddie Lane officiating, with burial following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK.

Katheryn Thora Wyatt, 93, of Hugo, OK passed away October 14, 2014 in Paris, TX. She was born on March 26, 1921 to George and Thora (Bye) Powell in Hugo, OK.

She married Woodrow Wyatt in Grant, OK on March 24, 1940.

She enjoyed cooking, singing, caring for her flowers and hanging baskets, and visiting with family and friends. She could whistle the tune to any song she ever heard. She loved the Lord and was a long time member of Grant First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Thora Powell; her husband, Woodrow Wyatt; brother, Joe Taylor Powell.

Katheryn is survived by two daughters, Jane Williams and husband, Bois “Butch”, of Powderly, TX and Melissa Edwards and husband, Chester, of Hugo, OK; four grandchildren, Lana McElroy and husband, Michael, of Idabel, OK, Seth Williams of Powderly, TX, Chance Edwards and wife, Mandy, of Hugo, OK, and Clay Edwards and wife, Meredith, of Atoka, OK; four great-grandchildren, Nataley and Aubree Edwards of Hugo, OK, and Emerson and Harper McElroy of Idabel, OK; brother, Carl Powell of Falfurrias, TX; sister-in-law, Edith Powell of Valliant, OK; and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 6:00-7:00 PM in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo, OK.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Grant, OK at P.O. Box 156, Grant, OK 74738, or the Cypress Basin Hospice, Inc. at P.O. Box 544, Mt Pleasant, TX 75456-0544.
