Funeral services for Robert Edward Strickland will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. in the Hugo First Baptist Church with Rev. Doug McClure officiating and burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Robert passed away Monday, April 12, 2010, in Sobol, OK, at the age of 39. Robert Edward Strickland was born July 18, 1970, in Hugo, Oklahoma, the son of Robert J. "Bob" and Judy Kay (Stell) Strickland. Robert graduated from Hugo High School, class of 1988, and also graduated from Tulsa Welding School. He had a history of computer programming and was a lifelong resident of Hugo, OK. Robert had worked as a pipe welder in the industrial construction business and enjoyed traveling. He had the opportunity to travel with his dad as a youth, which continued in his older years as a pipe welder. Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved being "one with nature". He always looked forward to sharing those times with his closest friends and family, especially his dad and his two brothers.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Romie and Eva Stell; fraternal grandparents, Troy and Josie Strickland.

Robert is survived by parents, Bob and Judy Strickland of Hugo, OK, two daughters, Ashlyn Hall of Swink, OK and Katelyn Strickland of Ft. Towson, OK; one son, Kody Strickland of Ft, Towson, OK; two brothers, Brent Strickland and wife, Christy of Ozark, MO, and Trey Strickland and wife, Brooke of Clever, MO; special friend, Jennifer Reese and children, Aubree and Rowdey Riddle of the home. The family will receive friends Friday, May 28, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Prater- Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK.
