Funeral services for Tommy Joe Strain will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, OK burial will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK. Tommy passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016, in Mansfield, TX at the age of 88.

Tommy Joe Strain was born on July 8, 1928 in Swink, OK to Sidney Tolbert and Mabel (Rainey) Strain. He served his country in the United States Army and worked as a Pipe Fitter for General Motors Company for 40 years. He had lived in this area off and on for the past 25 years before moving to Arlington, TX. Tommy loved hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Johnnie Jean (Hinsley) Strain in 1987; his second wife, Mary Jo (Holly) Strain in 2002; one sister, Charlene Mohr; two brothers, Sidney T. Strain, Jr. and John G. Strain.

Tommy is survived by one son, Ricky Strain and wife, Martha of Richland Hills, TX; five daughters, Jeannie Johnson and husband, Tommy of Arlington, TX, Shirley Soto and husband, Alfred of Arlington, TX, Patty Powell and husband, Mike of Mansfield, TX, Tina Feazell & husband, Tod of Mansfield, TX, and Robin Repka and husband, Ron of Krum, TX; one brother, Roger C. Strain and wife, Peggy of McKinney, TX; one brother-in-law, George Mohr of Ft. Worth, TX; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. before the service at 2:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, OK.

The family requests that donations may be made to the Carepath Healthcare at 720 W. Nathan Lowe Rd. #100, Arlington, TX 76017 in memory of Tommy Joe Strain.
