Graveside services for Stanley Clark “Potty” Self will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK with Jake Self officiating. Stanley passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 in Durant, OK, at the age of 83.

Stanley Clark Self was born October 10, 1932 in Hugo, OK, to William O. and Moseada (Clark) Self. He married Virginia Ciccone on March 30, 1998 in Durant, OK. He was a Golden Gloves champion, where he earned the nickname of “Potty”. He joined the National Guard in the 180th Infantry, Company F at 15 years old during the Korean War, and he was discharged in 1951. He then served his country in the United States Air Force, serving as a Senior Master Sergeant in the Vietnam War. He spent the rest of his career as a rural carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. "Potty" enjoyed gardening, and he was very active in the T-Ball program in Hugo. He was preceded in death by his parents, William O. & Moseada (Clark) Self, one sister, Mary Ann Montgomery, and five brothers, Usray Self, Ross Self, Dean Self, Dickie Self, and Jackie Self.

Stanley is survived by wife, Virginia (Ciccone) Self of the home; son, Stan Self and wife, Gina, of Hugo, OK; daughter, Suzanne Self of Lubbock, TX; stepson, David Goodwin and wife, Yuan, of Carrollton, TX; four grandchildren, Ryan Self of Oklahoma City, OK, Brandon Self of Hugo, OK, Reed Penson of Lubbock, TX, and Marcus Goodwin of Carrollton, TX; five great-grandchildren, Jackson Self, Breanna Self, Brecken Self, Madison Self, and Nakole Self.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 pm on Monday, February 8, 2016 in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, OK.
