Funeral services for LaVona Norfield will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK, with Rev. Phil Hodson officiating and burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

LaVona went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, in Hugo, OK, at the age of 87. LaVona Ellen Norfield was born October 18, 1924, in Gravely, Arkansas, the daughter of Prentice Preston and Estie (Yates) DeFoor. She was raised in the Muskogee area, graduated from Ft. Gibson, OK High School. She had lived in Alice, TX, Victoria, TX, and Seabrook, TX, before moving to Hugo, OK. She married Patrick Norfield on December 31, 1942, in Tijuana, Mexico. LaVona was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Methodist Woman’s Club, Phi Sigma Alpha, Home Demonstration Club, and the Garden Club. LaVona had worked as a Proof Reader and for J.C. Penny’s. She loved cooking, working crossword puzzles, gardening, antiqueing, traveling, and going to the farm.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Patrick Norfield in 1994; one son, Kelly Norfield Jr. in 1981, and one sister, Imogene Casey.

LaVona is survived by daughter, Ellen Pergande and husband, Shawn of Hugo, OK, one son, Jerry Norfield and wife, Iris of Hugo, and daughter, Sherry Eichinger of Arlington, TX. six grandchildren, Jonathan Norfield, Wade Barr and Chad Barr all of Hugo, OK, Daniel Norfield and wife, Michelle of Florida, Amber Albritton and Seth Eichinger both of Arlington, TX; three great-grand-children, Sammy Barr of Vermont, Kyla Barr of Weimer, TX, and Codie Norfield of Florida.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 31, 2012, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK.
