Graveside services for Connie Jean Hamm Milam will be held Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 2:00 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK with Pastor Phil Hodson officiating. Connie Jean Hamm Milam, 76, of Hamlin, TX formerly of Hugo, OK passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, TX.
Connie was born on July 14, 1936, in Olton, TX to Frank and Nadine Lain Hamm. She married Luther Brandes on April 12, 1955, and was a farmer’s wife. She married Jim Milam on September 15, 1970, and was a longtime business owner. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Connie was residing in Country Elegance Assisted Living in Stamford, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband Luther Brandes in 1968, a brother James Franklin Hamm, a son Van Brandes, and by her husband Otis "Jimmy" Milam of Hugo in 2001.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean Mahoney and husband Sam of Hamlin, son Danny Brandes of Raleigh, North Carolina, one step-son Jimmy Dale Milam and wife Kay of Kerriville, TX, three stepdaughters, Sue Erickson and husband Richard of Princeton, TX, Joan VanCleave and husband Van of Wylie, TX, and Jann Starks and husband Morris of Santa Fe, TX, thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Connie is also survived by two sisters- Hazel Reaney of San Antonio and Sue Wimp of Conroe, three brothers- David Hamm and wife Susan of Johnson City, TX, Ralph Hamm and wife Lucy of Frisco, TX, and Steve Hamm and wife Valerie of Seabrook, TX.
The family suggests memorials be made to The Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation, P.O. Box 824061 Philadelphia, PA 19182-4061 in lieu of flowers.
