Graveside services for Lillie Mae Ferguson will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Rev. Phil Hodson officiating. Lillie passed away Friday, February 24, 2012, in Dallas, TX at the age of 95.
Lillie Mae Ferguson was born September 8, 1916, in Santa Anna, TX, the daughter of Albert Thomas and Martha Ellen (Deen) Fussell. She married Glenn Frank Ferguson in 1941, in Golden, CO. Lillie had lived in the Hugo area between Hugo and Antlers for twenty-five years before moving to Dallas where she has lived for the past thirty years. Lillie was an avid member of the University Park Methodist Church in Dallas, TX. She was very active member of her Sunday School Class, Friendship Class, and helped with all the decorations at her church functions. She had worked as a model for Lester-Melnick and worked as a riveter during WWII, where she was fondly known as “Rosie the Riveter.” She also, worked at Douglas Aircraft in Shawnee, OK and did commercials for Michaels Craft Store. Lillie enjoyed crafts, crocheting, ceramics, gardening, and was a great joke teller. She also loved to travel and collect antiques. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Frank Ferguson in 1966; six brothers and sisters.
