Services for Grace McFarland were held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hugo, OK on Wednesday November 2, 2016 Time: 2:00 P.M. Father Joseph Chirayath officiated . Burial followed in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK under the direction of Miller and Miller Funeral Home of Hugo.
Grace Lillian Sykes was born July 25, 1915 in Canada, to Percy Sykes and Ida (Bensinger) Sykes and passed on October 28, 2016 in Hugo. She had lived in Hugo for over 30 years.
Grace was a trapeze artist, aerialist and bareback rider traveling with Ringling Brothers, Clyde Beatty, James M. Cole, Shine Circus and Tom Mix. She was also producer of her own show which was M&M International Circus. Grace was a "Pink Lady" at Choctaw Memorial Hospital for over 25 years. She also served "Meals on Wheels" for approximately 10-12 years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Davey McIntosh, her second husband, Walter "Mac" McFarland, two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by a daughter, Ronna Platt of Michigan; step son, Kim McFarland of California; two step daughters, Kathy Fong and Kelly McFarland, both of California; two grandchildren, four step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and 23 step great grandchildren.
