Funeral services for Alma G. Lee will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, OK with Mirl Fielder officiating, with burial following at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK. Alma went home to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, in Hugo, OK at the age of 88.
Alma Grace Lee was born on June 22, 1924 in Hugo, OK the daughter of J. D. “Doc” and Gladys (Williams) Messer. Alma was raised and lived in this area all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Springs Chapel Church of Christ. Alma married L.W. Lee on November 29, 1941 in Hugo, OK. She loved being with her family, quilting and especially cooking.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, L. W. Lee; two brothers, Loftis Messer and infant brother, Lewis Edwin Messer; sister, JoAnn Williams; son Carl E. Lee; grandson, David A. Lee and son-in-law, Herschel V. “Major” Carswell.
Alma is survived by her children, Ronald Dean Lee and wife, Barbara of Bradenton, FL, Linda Lee Carswell of Hugo, OK, Larry W. Lee and wife, Gretta of Oklahoma City, OK, and Debbie Lee Clifton of Hugo, OK; sister, Reba Smith and husband, Bill of Derby, Kansas; brother-in-law, Gene Williams of Oklahoma City, OK; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 20, 2012, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, OK. Family and friends are invited to sign the guest book or send private condolences to the family at www.praterlampton.com.
