Funeral services for Beulah Ferne King will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 10:00 am at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo, OK with Terry Kisler officiating; burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK. Beulah passed away Sunday, September 4, 2016 in Sand Springs, OK, at the age of 88.
Beulah Ferne King was born March 14, 1928 in Frederick, OK to Marion Ray and Beulah Ferne (Schulz) Bryant. She had lived in this area most of her life and was a member of the First Christian Church in Hugo, OK. Beulah received her degree from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. She married Al King on June 18, 1950 in Frederick, OK. She worked as a microbiologist for the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Beulah enjoyed bowling, tennis, and decorative painting at “The Palate”. Beulah also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was involved with 4-H. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alvin Arthur King.
Beulah is survived by her daughters, Patricia Dell King and Bart of Sand Springs, OK, and Shirley Marie Crenshaw and husband, Rick, of Sand Springs, OK; sons, Arthur Ray King and wife, Doris, of Muskogee, OK, and James Byron King III and wife, Kathy, of Rowlett, TX; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Carolyn and Terry Kisler, Terry and Kaye Ivy, and Thomas Ivy.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
