Funeral services for Kent M. Houchen will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Mussett officiating and burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Kent passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, in Atoka, OK. at the age of 49. Kent Melvin Houchen was born February 16, 1966 in Hugo, Oklahoma, to William and Peggy (Somerville) Houchen. He had lived in this area all of his life. Kent worked as a truck driver, rolling strong for over 25 years. The last several years his employment was for Sandford Oil Company via Western Transporation Trucking. Kent is most known for his big heart, which he shared freely with family, friends, and strangers alike. He would do anything for anybody, giving of himself and never expecting any return. Kent enjoyed fishing when not on the road, and always dreamed of hunting. He was preceded in death by father, William "Bill" Houchen; sister, Cindy Carper. Kent is survived by wife, Becky Houchen of Rattan, OK; two daughters, Christy Houchen of Hugo, OK and Shay Houchen of Rattan, OK; his mother, Peggy McCarty of Butler, OK; sister, Cheryl McLaughlin and husband, Jim of Butler, OK, nephew, Shane McLaughlin, niece, Amber Jeffrey; sister, Shelly Pinkston and husband, Shawn of Rattan, OK, nephew, Jason Pinkston, niece, Jalyn Roberts; niece Stana Carper(daughter of Cindy); 7 grandchildren, Gracie, Rya, J.J., Daylyn, Karsyn, Jada and Emory; a host of family and friends. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 29, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo, OK.
