Funeral services for Jesse Hal "Butch" Gooding will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Shoals Baptist Church, southeast of Hugo, OK with Johnny Williams, Pastor Billy Irions, and Mike Kinzley officiating; burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Oklahoma. Jesse passed away Friday, December 4, 2015, in Paris, Texas, at the age of 66.

Jesse Hal "Butch" Gooding was born September 7, 1949, in Paris, Texas, to Hal LeFlore and Sarah Delene (Flannagan) Gooding. He attended Murray State College and was a 32nd Degree Mason, York Rite, and Scottish Rite. He was a member of the Shoals Baptist Church. Butch married Rhonda Leigh Duncan on February 14, 2013, in Spencerville, OK. He was a licensed Paramedic and worked for the Hugo Fire Dept. in the mid 1970’s. Butch started the Paris EMS in 1977. Butch also worked for the Dept. of Corrections as a field Sgt. in Huntsville and also worked for the Lamar County Sheriff Dept., as well as a police officer for the Hugo Police Department. He started to work for the Oklahoma Corp, Commission in 1985 until he retired in 2008, as a weights and size officer working with the OHP. Butch was an avid sportsman, gun collector and a history military buff. He was an avid storyteller, might not be true, but he would make you think it was true. He was preceded in death by parents and granddaughter, Conley Bills.

Butch is survived by wife, Rhonda Gooding of the home; children, Ashlyn Paige Owens of Grant, OK and Deonna Leighdale Owens Gooding of Grant, OK, Keri Amis and husband Anson of Paris, TX, Misty Halcomb and husband Shane of Paris, TX, Buckley Gooding and wife Tina of Pattonville, TX, Joey Renfro and wife Courtney, of Powderly, TX; brother Cliff Gooding and wife Lori of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Adalyn Grace Owens, Ellis Amis, Cannon Amis, Preston Amis, Mallory Cunningham, Austin Cunningham, Taylor Bills, Riley Bills, Colleen Halcomb, Carter Renfro, Camden Renfro, Cenedy Renfro, Cooper Renfro and Charli Renfro, Abigail Gooding, Madelyn Gooding, Audrey Gooding, and Weston Gooding; special friend, Clint Campbell.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Shoals Baptist Church, southeast of Hugo, OK.
