Martha Doris Duff, left this earth on the wings of angels on March 25, 2011 to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was born on July 23, 1918, to Minnie Louina Herrin Thomas and James David Thomas, Sr. in Calhoun, GA. She had fought a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s since 2001. She leaves behind her brothers and sisters in Christ from Clayton Avenue Baptist church where she was a member since 1972.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy; brother and sisters and many other family members. She leaves behind her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Martha was a woman who used her hands. She was a professional seamstress, cotton farmer and cattle rancher. She was known in Hugo for her beautiful lawn and many flowers at her home on Rena Street. She moved to Hugo in 1969. She was laid to rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK on March 28, 2011, in a small private ceremony with family and friends. She loved Hugo, and had always called it home.
