Graveside services for Dorothy Laverne Drinkard will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Rev. Jessie Babcock officiating and burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Dorothy passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, in South Lake Tahoe, California, at the age of 82. Dorothy Laverne Drinkard was born on October 7, 1928, in Hugo, OK the daughter of John Pickitt and Mary Ann (Barger) Owen. She had lived in Antlers, OK most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Antlers, OK. Dorothy married Hollis Lemuel Drinkard on February 5, 1944, in Hugo, OK. She and her husband, Hollis owned and operated property in South Gate, CA and Antlers, OK, including the Antlers Inn Motel. She had lived in Antlers, OK before moving to South Lake Tahoe to be with her granddaughters, Diana Drinkard and Christine Payne. Dorothy loved to go to church and read her bible.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hollis Lemuel Drinkard; two sons, Dewey Ray Drinkard and Don Wayne Drinkard; three sisters, Viola Cody Owen, Opal Middlebrook Owen and Margarite Standrige Owen; three brothers, Johnny Owen, Travis Owen and Cecil Owen.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Lemuel Drinkard and wife Charmaine of Antlers, OK; five granddaughters, Diana Marie (Drinkard) Wilkinson and husband Daniel of South Lake Tahoe, CA, Christine Louise Payne of Carson City, Nevada, Stacy Ann Clark and Jamie Wolfe and husband Edward all of Antlers, OK and Rebecca Michelle Brown and husband Paul of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Dennis Owen of Colorado: 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren.
