Funeral services for W.D. "Dub" Curtis will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Rev. Gene Witt officiating and burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Oklahoma. Dub passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011, in Bonham, Texas at the age of 81.

W.D. “Dub” Curtis was born April 24, 1929, in Grant, OK the son of M. L. and Pearl (Lamb) Curtis. He married Emily Kathryn Shepard on May 12, 1950, in Paris, Texas. Dub had lived in the Hugo area most of his life. He served his country in the U.S. Air force from 1952 to 1956. Dub was manager of Lone Star Gas Company that later became Oklahoma Natural Gas Company in Hugo until his retirement. He was active in the Hugo community serving in the Chamber of Commerce, Hugo Housing Authority, and City Elections. He was a member of the Clayton Avenue Baptist Church where he served on several committees. Dub loved being outdoors, tinkering in the barn, and raising cattle and horses.

Dub was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Estha Wilkins; four brothers, Eli Curtis, Leonard Curtis, Manuel Curtis, and Wendell Curtis.

Dub is survived by his wife, Kathryn Curtis; one son, Clay Curtis of Paris, TX; one daughter, Barbie Robinson and husband Matt of McKinney, TX; two sisters, Opal Frost and Dimple Casey both of Hugo, OK; grandchildren, Kelli Lay and husband Brent of OKC, OK, Ashley Pollock and husband Matt of OKC, OK, Cortnee Robinson of Dallas, TX, Weston Robinson and wife Jenna of Ft. Worth, TX; great-grandchildren, Avery, Alice, and Channing.
