Mary Ruth Coffey of Durant was born October 5, 1931 in Depew, Oklahoma to Carl Alexander and Xzuma Lula Harris. She passed away October 15, 2013 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years. Mary lived in Hugo for 16 years and while in Hugo she was past president of PTA, she was a den mother in the Cub Scouts. She then moved and spent 42 years in Durant and worked for 8 years at the Markita Inn. She taught her children to play baseball and was a Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of Cobb Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Xzuma Harris; 7 brothers and sister, Dolly, one as an infant, Dorothy, Carl Raymond, Evelyn Inez, Stuart Donald and Beatrice, (twin to Barbara). Survivng family include her sons, Liston David Coffey and his wife Linda; Jon Coffey and his wife, Genia; Stuart Coffey and his wife, Daeng; Brien Coffey and his wife Misty, brother, Charles and sister, Barbara; 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Pavilion in Hugo, Oklahoma officiated by Pastor Bruce McClaughlin. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Oklahoma under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
