Funeral services for Bruce Bloodworth will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Hugo, Oklahoma with Pastor Doug McClure officiating & burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Bruce passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2016, in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 93.
Bruce Bloodworth was born September 17, 1922, in Hugo, Oklahoma, to George & Grace (Crawford) Bloodworth. He married Fern Campbell on November 28, 1942. He was a member of the Hugo First Baptist Church around 75 years. Bruce & his wife, Fern, went together on over 50 mission trips, & he led a Bible study every week at Goodland Academy for the past 32 years. He was a faithful follower of his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, & he led many to the Lord. Bruce served his country in the United States Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fern Bloodworth; his parents, George and Grace Bloodworth; & grandson, Chad Bloodworth; & four brothers & one sister.
Bruce is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Mike & Martha Bloodworth of Hugo, and Danny & Linda Bloodworth of Lake Texoma, OK; four grandchildren and spouses: Misty & husband, Robby, LeFlore of Paris, Texas, Andy & wife, Sandy, Bloodworth of Ardmore, OK, Josie & husband, Chris, Mendenall of Durant, OK, Kaci & husband, J.W., Parsons of Lake Texoma, OK; six great-grandchildren: Ryan LeFlore & Laci LeFlore, both of Paris, TX, Sam, Max, & Landri Mendenall, all of Durant, OK, & Brock Bloodworth of Ardmore, OK; as well as numerous other family and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, Oklahoma.
