Funeral services for Vergil Birmingham will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Hugo, OK, with burial following at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, OK.

Vergil went home to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, August 2, 2012, in Coleman, TX at the age of 67. Vergil Dewayne Birmingham was born on April 17, 1945, in Cooter Missouri the son of Richard Auther and Daisy Evelyn (Pritchard) Birmingham. He continued his education and graduated from UCLA. He married Sandra Wells on July 5, 1996, in Vega, Tx. Vergil had lived in Hereford since 1973 and was a member of the Westway Baptist Church. He was self-employed as a rancher for the past 30 years. Vergil was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Birmingham and one brother, Larris Birmingham. Vergil is survived by his wife, Sandie of the home; seven daughters, Kim Gripp and Lynette Padilla both of Amarillo, TX; Rochelle Nolen of Santo, Tx, Tammy Birmingham of Fort Worth, TX, Kristi Skelton and Kendra McLaughlin both of Hereford, TX, Kit Covington of Lindale, TX; step-daughter, Anissa Sellers of Katy, TX; step-son, Austin Sellers of Spokane, Washington; father, Richard Birmingham of Fort Worth, TX; two brothers, Ronnie Birmingham of Wingo, Kentucky and Gary Birmingham of Ft. worth, TX; 21 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. The family requests that donations be made in Vergil’s memory to the American Diabetes Association. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 5, 2012, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo, OK.
