Mary Ann Bell 82 of Sherman, Texas went to be with our Lord on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at home after a yearlong battle with cancer. Mary Ann was born in Hugo, Oklahoma to parents John H. Rich and Kathryn Rattan Rich on September 6, 1931. Mary Ann graduated from Hugo High School. On August 22nd, 1949 in Rockwall, Texas, Mary Ann married her love, Reed Bell of Grant, Oklahoma. Mary Ann was a Lab Technician for Kimball Oil. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin, Sister-in-Law, and Friend. Mary Ann was a woman of strong faith. She attended Parkview Church of Christ and held her church family close to her heart. She will be greatly missed.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers John H. Rich II, Billy Joe Rich, and Charles Rich.
She is survived by her sons Garmon and wife Linda of Irving, TX., Tab and wife Dena of Sherman, Grand children Jim Bell and wife Christina of Katy, TX., Valerie Bell Allen of Van Alstyne, TX., Meagan Anderson and husband Shane of Norman, OK., and Macy Bell of Sherman, Great-grandchildren Justin Bell of Dallas, Forrest and Farrah Bell of Aiken, S.C., Nathan, Garrett and Landon Witcher of Van Alstyne, TX., Step-grandchildren Brandy Clark and husband Raymond of Tacoma, Washington, Matt Harr and wife Tiffany of Krum, TX., and Darcy Bernard of Sherman, Step-great-grandchildren Emily and Connor Clark of Tacoma, Washington. Special thanks to the nurses and aides from Home Hospice.
Graveside services will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Oklahoma on January 8, 2014 at 3:00pm under the direction of Prater Funeral Home. Officiating will be Welton Stoker from Parkview Church of Christ in Sherman. Hymns will be performed by Marka Holloway and Bradley Brooks, also of Parkview.
