Memorial services for Gerald Meredith will be held on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Valliant, OK with Rev. Scott Stuart officiating. Gerald Wayne Meredith, of Ft. Towson, OK died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the age of 62.
Gerald was born February 24, 1947 in San Francisco, CA, the son of George and Mary (Meredith) Asvedo. He had lived in this area all of his life. He had served his country in the United States Army. He married Bessie Ann Ridenour on May 5, 2000 in De Queen, Arkansas. He retired from Brown & Root in Valliant, OK and owned and operated the Valliant Pawn Shop for eighteen years. Gerald loved to fish and go to the casino.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Gerald is survived by his wife: Bessie Meredith of the home; one son: Justin Meredith of Ft Hood, TX; one step-son: Jeremy Hammock and wife, Lacey of Calera, OK; one daughter: Kaci McGee and husband, Calvin of Durant, OK; one step-daughter: Misty Smith and husband, Dennis of Ft. Towson, OK.
