Pearl Capps, age 88, of Hugo, OK passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Sherman, TX. She was born October 1, 1920, in Albion, OK the daughter of William R. and Nancy (Cranford) Tidwell.
She had worked in McKinney, TX in the Food Service for the biggest part of her life before moving to Hugo, OK in the early 1990's. As a child she grew up in Honobia, living in Sawyer during her adult life. She moved to McKinney in the 1950's and retired there. Then moved to Princeton, Texas and in the 1990's she moved to Hugo. Pearlloved to fish, play dominoes, forty-two, and was a great cook and loved animals. She was very dedicated to her family, and had a witty sense of humor. She was known by a statement she made over the years; “If you can't say anything good about somebody then don't say anything at all”.
Pearl was preceded in death by her two husbands Alton L. France, and Tom C. Capps ; Son, Tommy Allen Capps; One sister; Six brothers.
She is survived by three daughters and son-in-laws: Barbara Sue and Sarge Engelking of Ft.Towson, OK; Jonny Lou Sportsman of Hugo, OK; Joyce Anna and Kurt Jacobson of Canton , TX: Four Grandsons and wives; Bobby Dean Short of Denver, CO; Duane Lee and Rhonda Short of Riverside, CA; Dale Steven Short of Denver, CO; Brian Allen Crim of Ft. Collins, CO; Karl Stanton and Christie Rackler of McKinney, TX; Timothy Bryce and Angie Rackler: Granddaughters and husbands: Deborah Kay and Tom Hadley of Hugo, OK; Lori Lynn and Tod Harrison of Durant, OK; DeAnna Lynn and Steve Goode of Canton, TX; Ashley Capps of Plano, TX. 20 Great Grandchildren; 6 Great-great Grandchildren.
A memorial celebration will be Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton Mills Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.
