Funeral services for Ramona Sumner will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Bryant and Bro. Bill Stone officiating and burial following in the Grant Cemetery.

Ramona died Sunday, March 29, 2010 in Hugo, OK at the age of 71. Ramona Sumner was born March 13, 1939 in Talihina, OK, the daughter of Daniel and Lela (Morris) Rodriguez. Ramona lived in this area all of her life.

She married Billy Jack Sumner on April 15, 1961 in Hugo, OK. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. She traveled with her husband while he was in the military and lived in Athens Greece & Japan during the 1960’s. She lived a good Christian life, filled with love, laughter, and joy.

Ramona was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jack Summer on November 30, 1995, her parents, two sisters, Hazel Smith and Elsie Freeman.

Ramona is survived by two daughters, Tela Baughman and husband, Carl of Lawton, OK and Wendi Sumner of Portland, OR; longtime companion, A.D. (Kenneth) Davidson of Hugo, OK; Blake Roberts of Hugo, OK and Jessie Svitak of Mililani, HI; two brothers, Joe Rodriguez of Soper, OK and Henry Rodriguez of Hugo, OK; four sisters, Helen Roberts, Ann Jordan, Donna Mickel of Hugo, OK and Janie Mitchell of Millerton, OK; three grandchildren, Ciara Kelley, Chelsea Baughman, Ashley Baughman all of Lawton, OK; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.
