Shirley Mae (McKee) Keller

Funeral service for Shirley Mae Keller will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Soper, OK with Bro. Tim Harless and Bro. Rick Westbrook officiating. Interment will follow at Goodland Cemetery in Goodland, Oklahoma.

Shirley Mae (McKee) Akins Keller was born February 9, 1936, in Buckhorn, Oklahoma, to Johnnie and Ethel (Hughes) McKee. She passed from this life on July 24, 2016, in Durant, OK, at the age of 80.

Shirley lived in this area most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Soper, OK. She had graduated from Soper High School in 1954 and married her first husband, Frank Akins, on May 7, 1954. After he passed away, she later married Lloyd Keller. Shirley enjoyed growing vegetables in her garden and loved to grow beautiful flowers in her flower garden. She loved country living and played the guitar, fiddle, and the piano.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Frank Akins; second husband, Lloyd Keller; infant son, Steven Dewayne Akins; step-son, David Keller; and step-daughter, Judy Kay Ambs.

She is survived by daughters, Chloe Fuller and husband, Curtis, of Idabel, OK and Suzi Blair and husband, Bret, of Bethel, OK; step-daughter, Nancy Hill of TX; sisters, Betty Hobbs of Bangs, TX, Judy Chaney and husband, Larry, of Soper, OK, and Trudy Caraway of Hugo, OK; four grandchildren, Tina, Ginger, Eric, and Allen; four great-grandchildren, Jakob, Gavin, Mya, and Cameron; as well as many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo, OK.
