Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 25th, 2013, at Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock at 10:00 AM. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 24th, 2013, at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road in North Little Rock. Graveside services for Lois Hicks will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. in Goodland Cemetery South of Hugo, OK.
Lois Janis Doty Hicks, 78, of Jacksonville was born May 13th, 1935, in Bay, Arkansas and passed away July 21, 2013, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Lawrence and Loty Doty of DeValls Bluff, and her brother Burl Doty of Jonesboro.
She is survived by her dear and committed husband of 43 years Lee Roy Hicks, and her sister LaWanda Clark of Gurdon; her children Mike (Darla) Owens of Cabot, Pete (Donna) Owens of Sherwood, Susie (Charles) Morgan of Little Rock, Tony (Tammy) Owens of Collierville, TN, Janet (Tahar) Zeglam of Jupiter, FL, Sharon (Greg) of Lutz of Collierville, TN, Brenda (George) Tabor of Crowley, TX; her 16 grandchildren; 7 beautiful great grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother. In high school she played basketball for the Bay Yellow Jackets and introduced girls slow pitch softball to Jacksonville in the 1960's. She received her nursing degree in the early 1960's and practiced for 18 years. She had a passion for home decorating having decorated many homes in the greater Little Rock area. She also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, fishing, shopping and cooking for her family.
