Graveside services for Kenneth G. Bell will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 5:00 pm with Shane Chancellor officiating and burial following in the Goodland Cemetery. Kenneth passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011 in Russellville, Arkansas, at the age of 72.
Kenneth G. Bell was born on March 21, 1939 in Hugo, Oklahoma, to Ottis Martin and Oletta F. (White) Bell. He graduated from Goodland High School in 1956 before serving his country in the United States Navy. Kenneth married Shirley Ann Cain on April 27, 1957 in Soper, OK. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University where he graduated with his Doctorate Degree in Veterinarian Medicine. He was a member of the Ranger First Baptist Church, NAFV and the OSU Alumni. Ken served as a faithful veternarian in Atoka, OK for many years. He will be remembered by many as “Doc” Bell. After he left Atoka, he went to work as a USDA inspector for Wayne Farms. Ken loved to fish, play cards, have lively discussions and read funny emails. He was preceded in death by his father, Ottis Bell, step-father, Roy Burnett; and one brother, Jack Bell.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Bell of the Home; one son, Glenn Allen Bell and wife Alma Bell of Atoka, OK; one daughter, Sherrie Ann Bell Goff and husband Kenneth Goff of San Antonio, TX; mother, Oletta Burnett of Early, TX; one brother, Wayne Charles Bell and wife Debbie Burgess of Murray, KY; one sister, Linda Sue Allen and husband Nathan Allen of Early, TX; one grandchild, Allen Jay Bell and wife Kate Bell of Tulsa, OK.
