Graveside services for Robert George Collins will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Ft. Towson Cemetery with Reverend Leon Timms officiating and burial following in the Ft. Towson Cemetery. Robert passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 in Hugo, Oklahoma, at the age of 88.

Robert George Collins was born September 13, 1925 in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma, to Odis Claude and Lillie Louisiana (Bates) Collins. He had lived in this area from 1925 to 1945 and from 1970 until the present time. He married Virginia Ann Ayers on May 24, 1977 in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma. He served his country in the United States Navy from November 22, 1943 until January 16, 1944. He worked as a pipefitter and plumber for commercial and residential properties.With the help of others he helped start the Ft. Towson Volunter Fire Dept and was a volunteer fire fighter for several years. He also helped start other projects in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by parents; son: Darren Burchfield; brother: Charles R. Collins; sister: Elma Collins and grandsons: Nantz Rhea Collins and Billy James Burchfield.

Robert is survived by wife: Virginia Ann Collins of the home; daughter: Susan McGaugh of Ft. Worth, TX; son: Robert Rhea Collins of Hot Spring, AK; step-sons: Greg Burchfield of Hugo, OK, Mike Burchfield of Ft. Towson, OK; Jim Burchfield and Eddie Burchfield both of Sawyer, OK; sister: Myrtle G. Collins of Ft. Towson, OK; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
