Graveside services for Essie Elizabeth Cody will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ft. Towson Cemetery in Hugo, OK with Rev. Melvin Holleman officiating. Essie passed away Friday, December 9, 2016, in Paris, TX at the age of 81.

Essie Elizabeth Cody was born on January 1, 1935 in Hugo, OK to Johnny and Liddie (Sexton) Norrid. Essie lived in this area since 1974 and was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ronnie Cody; three grandchildren, Daniel, Ryan, & Casey; and numerous brothers & sisters.

Essie is survived by her daughters, Sharon Hobbs & husband, Calvin, of Idabel, OK, Vicki Taft of Swink, OK, and Janice Byassee & husband, Randy Hardaway, of Swink, OK; the father of her children, Clarence Cody of Tulsa, OK; one brother, Glenn Norrid of Conroe, TX; two sisters, Dessie Trapp of Campbell, TX and Johnnie Mae Hamilton of Battiest, OK; five grandchildren, Candice Bryant, Misty Morgan, Chris Morgan, Nolan Byassee, & Rebeckah Hobbs; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many other family & friends.
