Rhoda “Ruth” Archer Allen, resident of Antlers, Okla. passed away September 01, 2020 at her granddaughter’s home in Howe, Texas.

Ruth was born in Kingston, Oklahoma to Rev Moses Rhea (M.R.) Archer and Rhoda Francis (Rhodes). She married Edgar Allen in January 1945 in Antlers, Okla. and then graduated from Antlers High School the same year.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Bill Allen and one grandson Brian McCracken and her sisters, Selma, Hazel, Lois, Francis and Jewel; brothers, Leonard, Mark and Paul. Ruth and Ed had five children, Tommye, Paula, Bill, Joe, and Rick. They lived in Antlers then moved to Oregon for several years and later return to Okla. before moving to Plano, TX. Ruth was mainly a stay at home Mom until her children were in high school and she then worked in Richardson, Texas for Texas Instruments. They lived in Plano until they retired in 1976 to Fort Towson, Oklahoma on Lake Raymond Gary, Ruth and Ed were very active in the community and at one time they owned a Lake Store in Fort Towson. They moved back to Antlers, OK in 1993.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters Tommye Perrin and husband John of Plano, TX.; Paula McCracken and husband John of Howe, TX; Two sons, Joe Allen of Antlers Manor Nursing Home; Rick Allen and wife Mitci of McKinney, TX.

Also, one very beloved granddaughter Lisa Perrin James and husband Ryan of Howe, TX. Four grandsons, Brad Perrin of Moyers, OK; Kyle McCracken and wife Caroline of Allen, TX; Rickey Allen, Jr of McKinney, TX, and Levi Allen and wife Melinda of McKinney, TX. Three great granddaughters, Ashton James and Aurian James of Howe, TX, and Hannah McCracken of Allen, Texas. Two great grandsons, Rickey Allen III, and Morgan Allen. Also, her favorite niece, Virginia Walker of Denison, TX and former- sister-in-law Mickie Blair of Lancaster, CA. who wrote and sent her unique and personal cards every week while she was in Antlers Manor Nursing Home.

She will be missed by her family but especially by her Son, Joe of the Antlers Manor Nursing Home who she visited every day while living in Antlers. When Ruth became a resident of the Manor she thought she could still take care of Joe. She lived for and loved her family and was very blessed because they also dearly loved her.

The funeral service will be held at 2PM on Friday, September 04, 2020 at Serenity Funeral Home in Antlers, Oklahoma. Her burial will be at the Fort Towson Cemetery. Her grandson, Brad Perrin will officiate.

Serenity Funeral Home in Antlers, Oklahoma will be in charge of arrangements.
