Services for Joe Wayne Wallace, 63, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Chickasaw Community Center in Ada, Rev. Louise Marrs will officiate along with Rev. Russell and Bonnie Horn. Burial will follow at Dixon Chapel Cemetery. A Wake Service will be 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Wallace died Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at an Ardmore hospital. He was born May 14, 1951 at Byars, Oklahoma to Lemmie and Nora Smith Wallace. He attended Byars grade school and Stratford High School. He also attended East Central University in Ada. He moved to Ada in 1970 from Stratford.

Mr. Wallace married Rev. Hazel Walker on June 16, 1973 at the Dixon Chapel Church west of Stratford. He was employed at Valley View Regional Hospital for a number of years. He later worked for the Ada City Schools where he served as a bus driver then later became the Indian Educator for Washington Elementary. He retired from being an Indian Educator of 12 years. Mr. Wallace went back to work for the Chickasaw Nation Childcare as their receptionist for 5 years. He was a longtime member of Dixon Chapel Church and he was affiliated with the Full Gospel ministries.

Survivors include his wife, Rev. Hazel Wallace, of the home; three sons, Jeremy Wayne Wallace and wife Ashley, Jason Wayne Wallace and wife Tamara and Jon Wayne Wallace; a daughter, Krystal Gayle Bohanon and husband Glenn; Steven Orr, whom he reared and his wife Stephanie; his grandchildren, Krysten Rachelle Wallace, Jacob Wayne Wallace, Jaxson Cole Bohanon, Kyleigha Mae Bohanon, Kynleigh Jo Bohanon, Nannola Bicey Wallace, Mackenzie Underwood, Mason Underwood, Mikhail Underwood and Tia Orr; four sisters, Opal Walker and husband Herman, Zella Gaines and husband William, Laverna Walker and husband Gary, and Ramona Walker and husband Virgil; a nephew, Doug Amos; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Judith, Nancy and Ida; brother, Ezra; nephew, Jonathan Frazier; and niece, Carol Frazier.

Bearers will be Steven Orr, Christian Williams, Chris Cully, Wendall Gaines, Tom Gaines and Merle Stick, Jr., Honorary bearers will be Virgil Walker, William Gaines, Gary Walker, Herman Walker, Mike Cully and Gary Walker Jr.
