Mary Idella Wheeler, daughter of George Wolford and Maggie Lucile (Mauck) Jones, was born October 2, 1925 in Cherokee County, Oklahoma, and departed this life to be with our Lord and Savior on December 10, 2007, in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 8 days.
Mary was married to Bruce Wheeler on July 3, 1947 and to this union there were 8 children; Mary Cleo, Charley Curtis, Linda Kay, Larry Bruce, Kathy Lynn, Thurman Leroy, Lonnie George, and James Woodrow.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed the duties that followed her role of being a very loving wife, mother and grandmother to all her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Bruce Wheeler, 1 child; Linda Vaughn, 1 granddaughter; Angela Kay Vaughn and 1 son in law; Rocky Thomas, siblings; Leona Klassen, Velma Jones, Thelma Jones, Billie (Midget) Scott, Lou Bynum, Imogene Swepston, Captain Jones, and Loretta Jones. Mary is survived by a very loving family that includes 7 children; Mary Cleo O'Neal and husband Noble, Charley Curtis Jones and wife Judy, Larry Bruce Wheeler and wife Donna, Kathy Lynn Thomas, Thurman Leroy Wheeler and wife Ann, Lonnie George Wheeler, James Woodrow Wheeler and wife Lucy all of Stiwell, Oklahoma, 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Siblings; Katie Moore of Welling, Oklahoma, Retha Jordan of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.Funeral services were held Friday, December 14, 2007 in the Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home with Pastor James Wheeler officiating.
Interment followed in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
