TAHLEQUAH — Services for John H. Pulliam, 72, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Tahlequah, with Pastor Buddy Hunt presiding. Interment will follow at the Tahlequah City Cemetery. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of Hart Funeral Home.

John was born on Oct. 3, 1938, in Siloam Springs, Ark., to Loren and Sybil (Daniels) Pulliam. John spent his childhood in Watts and Tahlequah. John graduated from Tahlequah High School in 1956.

He graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, with a degree in mathematics. He began his career as an engineer for Texas Instruments in Dallas. He worked for Texas Instruments for over 30 years, ending his career in management in the defense department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

John lived in the Tahlequah area since his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tahlequah.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Patricia Darlene Pulliam; his parents, Loren and Sybil Pulliam; and his brothers, Dan and Nick Pulliam. John departed this life on Saturday Aug. 20, 2011, at the age of 72.

Survivors include one son, John Pulliam Jr. of Sherman, Texas, and his wife, Mary; daughter, Michele Presley and husband, Mark Presley, of Tahlequah; five grandchildren, Alan Presley, Paige Presley, Justin Pulliam, Brent Pulliam and Caroline Pulliam; and two great-granddaughters.

The family asks those wishing to make memorial donations do so to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 221 S. Commercial Road, Tahlequah, Okla., 74464.
