TAHLEQUAH - Opal Pearl McKee, the daughter of Ernest Ray and Nellie Ruth (Vickers) Thomas, was born November 26, 1920 in Turnip, Ark., and departed this life on October 6, 2008, in Wagoner, at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 25 days.

Opal was married to Bill Orr in 1938, in Tahlequah, and to this union 12 children were born. Opal and Bill were happily married for 32 years until his death in 1970. In 1973, Opal married John McKee and they were married until his death in 1989. She loved life and all that it held. She touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Bill Orr and John McKee; one son, Billy Dean Orr; one daughter, Carol Ann Trotter; two sisters, Mildred Smith and Edith Odell; and two brothers, Clyde Thomas and Orille Thomas.

She is survived by a very loving family which includes eight sons: Kenneth Orr, of Muskogee; Jack Orr and wife, Cheryl, of Tahlequah; Michael Orr, of Tahlequah; Gary Orr and wife, Barbara, of Kennewick, Wash.; Tony Orr, of Gainsville, Ga.; Larry Orr, of Visalia, Calif.; and Steve Orr, of Riverside, Calif.; two daughters, Donna Martin and husband, Tom, of Santa Margarita, Calif., and Virginia Martin and husband, Mike, of Visalia, Calif.; three sisters: Dorothy Sheldon, of Laton, Calif., Lois Morphis, of Farmersville, Calif., and Geneva Hart, of Exeter, Calif.; one brother, Jim Thomas, of Visalia, Calif.; and 28 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Many other relatives and friends also survive her.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, at the Tahlequah City Cemetery with Brother Dewayne Denny officiating.
