TAHLEQUAH – Funeral services for Dessie Maye McCoy, 82, will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 23, in the Green Country Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev Kermit Mullins.
Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Wilson, Terry Matthews, Erwin Hopkins, Ben Mullins and Dewey Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers are Vernon Pierce, Norman "Shrimp" Fisher, Don Tudor and Don Linn.
Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at tahlequahfuneral.com.
Dessie was born May 19, 1929, in Tahlequah, the daughter of Fred and Alice (Shook) Neet. She died on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, in Tulsa. She was the last surviving of 12 siblings. Dessie has also been preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Chet McCoy
Dessie lived with her husband, Chet, in Corpus Christie, Texas. They returned to Tahlequah in 1964. She enjoyed visiting nursing home residents each Wednesday and would also visit shut-ins. She loved to crochet.
She is survived by her daughters and their families, Phyllis Frazier of Tulsa; grandson Steven Jones of Tulsa; great–grandson Jeremy Jones of Tulsa; great–grandaughter Emily and husband Cody Myers of Tulsa; granddaughter Tracy Arthur and husband Damon of Broken Arrow; great–grandchildren Miranda Ryan and Zach Arthur; daughter, Rhonda Richert and husband Larry of Tahlequah; grandson Shawn Richert and wife Tina; great–granddaughter Emily Richert; and a host of other relatives, friends and loved ones.
