Funeral Services for Roberta Jane Grayson will be held on Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Pastor D. J. McCarter officiating.

Roberta's nephews will serve as pallbearers and include Stuart Grayson, Joe Grayson III, Justin Grayson, Roy Lowrey, Jesse Grayson, and Arron Jumper. Honorary pallbearers include Richard Birdtail Jr. and Dewayne Patton.

Roberta Grayson was born the daughter of Joe and Charlotte (Robin) Grayson Sr. on March 28, 1962, in Tahlequah. Roberta attended school in the Tahlequah area. Roberta was the kind of person who always enjoyed a day spent with her family, teasing and laughing with her brothers and sisters and being the favorite "aunt" to her nieces and nephews.

Her sense of humor was used daily to show her family how much she loved them. She was talented with Native American basket weaving and beadwork. She enjoyed reading and loved time spent in the kitchen cooking for family and friends. Roberta liked curling up in her favorite chair to watch movies like "Lonesome Dove."

A Christian by faith, Roberta was a member of First Indian Baptist Church of Tahlequah. The Lord called Roberta to her heavenly home on Nov. 21, 2010, in Tahlequah with her family at her side. She was 48 years old.

Roberta is preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Sam, Stanley, Matthew, and Sean Grayson and nephews Brian Jumper, Christopher Grayson, and James Oosahwe Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three brothers, Joe Grayson Jr. and wife Gwen, Webster Grayson and wife Debra, Tim Grayson and wife Carrie; and three sisters, Patricia Oosahwe, Mary Ellen Grayson, both of Tahlequah, and Linda Patton and husband DeWayne of Porum. She has shared 14 wonderful years with her companion, John Birdtail. Her legacy lives on in her numerous nieces, and nephews, her cousins, and a host of friends and loved ones.
