TAHLEQUAH — Services for Peggy Jean Glass are Saturday, April 21, at 11 a.m., at the Reed-Culver Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Sanders officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, April 20, from noon until 8 p.m., at the Reed-Culver Chapel. Interment will be held at Tahlequah City Cemetery.

Peggy Jean Glass, known to her friends and family as Peggy Sue, was born May 31, 1939, to Arthur and Jennie (Bunch) Springwater in Adair County. She departed from this life on April 18, 2012, in Tulsa, with her family at her bedside.

Peggy grew up in the Greasy community, outside of Stilwell. She attended school at Greasy and Cave Springs, then attended Haskell in Lawrence, Kan. She raised three children and a granddaughter in Tahlequah. She loved to sit and visit with her family and friends, and could often be found sewing or playing cards at her “post.”

She worked as a secretary at Cherokee Nation Industries, and then went to work at Tahlequah City Hospital where she dispatched the first life flight to ever come into the hospital.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father; brother, Don Springwater; daughter, Donna Kay Springwater; and grandson, Michael Springwater.

Peggy is survived by her sons, Tony Glass of Tahlequah, Waylon Glass and his wife Lisa, and their daughters, Stacy, Samantha, and Skylar all of Tahlequah; granddaughter, Stephanie Wisdom and husband Drew, and their daughter Amiah Wisdom, all of Tahlequah; sister Maudie Wolfe and husband Andy of Pryor; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
