Roger Dale Girdner was born on Sept. 10, 1963, in Tahlequah, the son of Leroy and Dorothy (Cole) Girdner. Roger attended school in the Cave Springs School District and spent afternoons running around with his nine brothers and sisters.
On Sept. 16, 1989, Roger took Ms. LaDonna Euline Hare as his bride at the First Baptist Church of Tahlequah. This loving marriage was blessed with 21 years and three daughters, Alexis Edan, Adrianna Nicole, and Ashley Marie.
Roger worked as a custodial engineer at Briggs Public School. He loved people and every child he greeted at the school.
Roger never tired of helping those in need, making their lives just a little bit easier.
When he wasn't working, Roger spent spare time with his horses, training them and attending trail rides. The best time for Roger was the time he could spend with his wife, children, and his family. Roger felt blessed to have such wonderful family from both his and his wife's side of the family.
Roger was constantly finding something to do either around the house, the yard, or with his daughters. Roger was a quiet and thoughtful man, enjoying the occasional time alone working on his projects.
A Christian by faith, Roger attended the Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Tahlequah.
The Lord called Roger to his eternal home on Oct. 26, 2011, in Tahlequah, with his loved ones by his side. Roger was 48 years old.
The students and staff at Briggs, his family and many friends will truly miss their friend.
Roger is preceded in death by his mother; his father; and three brothers, Billy, Jim, and Leroy Girdner; as well as two sisters, Dorothy and Wanda Girdner.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife LaDonna of the home; and his three adored daughters, Alexis, Adrianna, and Ashley, all of the home in Tahlequah. His brothers and sisters include Jug Girdner and wife Nora, Tub Girdner and wife Tish, Rick Girdner and wife Stacey all of Welling. His sisters include Shirley Brannon and husband Estelle, Claretta "Birdie" Christie of Welling, Gail Scott and husband Gary of Welling, and his sisters-in-law, Theresa Girdner, and Candi Girdner all of Welling.
