TAHLEQUAH — Services for Perry Enoch "Sog" Fritts will be held on at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at the Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah, with Rev. Paulette Gower of Parrish Full Gospel officiating. Interment will follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery . Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 from noon until 6 p.m. Services have been entrusted to Reed-Culver Funeral Home of Tahlequah.
Pallbearers for Sog include William B. Fritts, Jerry Casey, John Burns, Mitchell Fritts, Willie K. Fritts, and Nathan Hammer. Honorary Pallbearers include L.C." Mose "Fritts, Bob Fritts, Ronnie Aytes, and Murry Colburn.
Perry E. "Sog" Fritts was born on Jan. 18, 1926, in Tahlequah, the son of William Lawson and Maggie (Teehee) Fritts. Sog attended Tahlequah schools, and enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II and proudly served his country from 1944 until his honorable discharge in 1946.
After the war, Sog returned to the Tahlequah area and began his ranching career. On April 21, 1972, Sog married Lena Mae (McAlister) Seay. Sog was the father of three daughters, Margaret, Sharon and Debbie. Sog worked hard on the ranch, and when he had a little free time, he would play a game of dominoes. Sog was happy just to spend an afternoon with his family, sharing a laugh and relaxing.
Sog was a Christian by faith and was called to his eternal home on December 9, 2010 in Tahlequah with his family at his side. Sog was 84 years old. He will be greatly missed by his many family and friends.
Sog is preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Janie (Hicks) Fritts, his wife Lena Mae in 2007, his daughter, Debbie Kelley, a sister, Clara Fritts, a brother, Dwain Fritts and one nephew, David Fritts.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Margaret and Marvin Thompson of Siloam Springs, Ark., and Sharon Welch of Santa Fe, N.M. Sog's brother, L.C. "Mose" Fritts and wife, Barbara, of Tahlequah, survive him, as well as one stepbrother and two step sisters, Bob Fritts and wife Lola of Tahlequah, and Helen Hill and Lois Craig and husband Kenneth all of Muskogee. Sog is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Fritts, and a very close friend, Jerry Casey and wife Pam all of Tahlequah. Sog's legacy will live on in his four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
