TAHLEQUAH - A funeral for J.B. Dobson, 75, of Tahlequah, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the Green Country Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Revs. Delbert Comstock and Gene Ogle.

Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the direction of Green Country Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Raymond Hendrix, Richard Smith, Mitchell Tillison, Jerry Davis, Jerry Gladd, and Jason Qualls. Honorary pallbearers include Johnny Lenard, Bobby Scroggins, J.B. Scroggins, J.L. Denny, Lloyd Scroggins, Richard Scroggins, David Walker and Dean Neugin.

J.B. Dobson was born Jan. 7, 1933, in Tahlequah, to Emit Dobson and Josie Lue (Burchett) Dobson. He passed from this life on Sunday, Oct. 12, in Tulsa.

J.B. was raised on "Nubbin Ridge Ranch" on Stickross Mountain and attended Union Grade School. In 1952, he enlisted in the United States Army and served until 1954 during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge he worked at Ozark Nursery for 29 years.

He met and married his wife, Lois, in 1965. After leaving the nursery J.B. went to work for the City of Tahlequah Cemetery Maintenance Department and retired from there in 1995. Before his health deteriorated he enjoyed coon hunting. He liked watching horse racing on television and visiting on his front porch with friends and neighbors. J.B. thoroughly enjoyed his grandkids.

J.B. was preceded in death by his parents.He is survived by his wife, Lois, of the home; his daughter, Tammy Johnston, and husband, Ken, of Penn.; grandsons, Kenny and Zackery; sister, Eldee Panell, of Tahlequah; brother, Earl Dobson and wife, Molly, of Tahlequah; as well as nieces, nephews, brother and sister-in-laws, other relatives and friends too numerous too mention.
