TAHLEQUAH — Funeral services for Alice Ann DeMoss are at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Green Country Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Paulette Gower. Pallbearers are Brent Kennedy, Justin Harden, Doug Hammons, John Derrick, Justin Kennedy, and Ricky DeMoss.

Interment will follow in the Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at tahlequahfuneral.com.

Alice Ann DeMoss was born Feb. 4, 1925, in Lucky, Okla., to Monroe Jefferson Applegate and Ada (Johnson) Applegate. She passed away in Tahlequah, Okla., on Oct. 22, 2012, at the age of 87.

Alice grew up in Peggs, Okla., where she attended school. She also was pastor at several churches in Northeastern Oklahoma. Alice enjoyed fishing, and devoted her life to the church, and to her family.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, William “Barney” DeMoss, at the time of his passing.

She is survived by her two sons, Wesley DeMoss and wife May of Keys, and Rick DeMoss and wife Kim of Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren, Beverly Shankle and husband Carl of Tahlequah, Deanna Spencer and husband Clyde of Tahlequah, Alicia Sumpter and husband Lee of Fanshawe, Okla., Misty Hardin and husband Justin of Tulsa, Ricky DeMoss and wife Angela of Muskogee, Mindy Hammons and husband Doug of Wagoner, Jon Derrick of Tulsa, and Crystal Derrick of Tulsa; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
