PARK HILL -- Graveside services for Katie Lee (Tincher) Brackett, 75, of Park Hill, will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday April 13, 2010 under the direction of Green Country Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Parker will be officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Brackett, Jessie Brackett, Steven Brackett, Hayden Brackett, Tanner Brackett, Jimmy Fort, Christian Brackett, Daulton Brackett, Justin Fort, Colton Fort and Jeremiah Brackett. Online condolences may be left at tahlequahfuneral.com.
Katie Lee (Tincher) Brackett was born on Feb. 19, 1935 to Ted and Jessie Tincher in Tahlequah. Katie went to her eternal home on April 11, 2010, with her family by her side. Katie fought a long battle but always faced her illness with grace and humor.
She was the oldest of seven girls. In November 1950, Katie married the love of her life, Charlie Brackett and together they had two sons, Charlie T. and James Lee Brackett. Katie worked for many years at Ozark Nursery before she decided to join her husband in their family business, Brackett Rebuilders. She was a loving wife and mother who would always tell you exactly what she was thinking. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Shirley Jones.
Katie is survived by her husband, Charlie of the home; her two sons, Charlie T. Brackett and wife Louise of Peggs, and J.L. Brackett and wife Teresa of Conway, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Chris Brackett and wife Heather, Jessie Brackett and wife Jenny, Steven Brackett and wife Heather, Tina Fort and husband Jimmy, Jessica Reed, Lillian Maple, Kristy DeLoache and April Parker; 17 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Francis Corbett and husband Raymond of Tailholt; sisters Bonnie Akins, Jane Ballard, Donna Beck, Janice Jones, and Linda Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
