PARK HILL -- Graveside services for William A. "Bill" Adams were be held on Monday, May 24, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Tahlequah City Cemetery Gazebo, with Pastor Danny Ray officiating.

Honorary pallbearers for Bill Adams included Michael Adams, Scott Cragar, Tom Maloney, Vernon Martin, Rusty Carroll, Bo Adams, Dylan Adams, and Charlie Cragar.

William Arthur Adams was born March 13, 1947, in Muskogee, the son of Gordon K. and Lydia N. (Dunavin) Adams.

The family moved to California where Bill graduated from Bell Gardens High School in California. On Jan. 8, 1966, Bill married the love of his life, Catherine Hall, at the Chapel of Memories in Norwalk, Calif. This union was blessed with a daughter and a son.

Bill supported his family as a grocery manager for 36 years, working for Albertsons, then as his own grocery store owner for Newco Foods and finally as a manager for Drug Warehouse. The family moved in 1983 from Yorba Linda, Calif. to the Tahlequah area.

When Bill wasn't working, he enjoyed a little fishing, gardening, and working on his land. Anytime spent with his grandchildren was a great day. He loved his family and was content just to be with them.

Bill had a strong work ethic and a deep sense of honesty. He could tell others how he felt about any issue discussed. Bill was a Christian by faith.

The Lord called Bill to his eternal rest on Thursday, May 20, 2010, in Tahlequah with his wife and family at his side. He was 63 years old. Bill will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents and his maternal grandparents, A.J., and Amy Dunavin.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years, Cathy of the home in Park Hill; his daughter, Christine Cragar and her husband Scott, and his son David Adams, all of Park Hill.

His legacy lives on in his six grandchildren, Lauren Adams, Rian Cragar, Bo Adams, Megan Adams, Dylan Adams, and Charlie Cragar; his special great-granddaughter, Averi A. Sherrell; and two brothers, Kenny Adams and wife Earlene of Moodys and Steve Adams of Calif.; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
