BRIGGS – Funeral services for James Arnold Deckard, 18, of Welling, Okla., will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, in the Briggs School gymnasium. Officiating will be Rev. Gil Hooper. Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Holderbee, Blake Gower, Brian Clark, Emmanuel Deckard, Mark Washington, Jimmie Washington and Carl Dallis. Honorary pallbearers are Wes Holderbee, Gregory Lipford Jr., Joseph Lipford, Matt Santana and Dustin Gower. Interment will follow in the Ross Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Visitation for family to receive friends is set for Wednesday evening from 6 p.m.to 8:30 p.m. at Green Country Funeral Home.James Arnold Deckard was born Jan. 13, 1990, in Tahlequah, Okla., to Danny Arnold Deckard and Marcie (Reese) Deckard. He passed from this life on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, in Tulsa, Okla.James attended Briggs Elementary School through the eighth grade. He was a 2008 graduate of Tahlequah High School. He loved to hunt and fish, hang out with his friends and spend time with his family.James was preceded in death by his grandpa, Everett Anderson, and aunt, Kelly Lipford.Those he leaves to cherish his memory are his parents, Danny and Marcie Deckard, and two sisters, Terrie Deckard and Sallie Deckard, all of the home; grandparents, Joe and Pat Reese, Charlene and David Norris, Arnie and Nancy Deckard and Velma Sellers; one aunt, Kristy Reese and companion Jose Bocanegra; three uncles, Adam Reese, Jason Adair, David Adair and wife Mariah. James will be greatly missed by his family and friends who survive him.Green Country Funeral Home, 203 S. Commercial, 458-5055.
