Jack Powers Rucker, 86, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012.
Jack was born in Yale, on Aug. 1, 1925, to George 'Doc' and Sarah Nan (Powers) Rucker. He was married to Rena Mae (Cookson) Rucker on Oct. 3, 1948. They have been married for 63 years and have three children: Doc, Deborah (Tobie), and Cyndi.
Jack graduated from City High in Tahlequah. He fought in Italy during WWII as a member of the Army. A man of many passions, Jack worked in a variety of professions, living in both Oregon and Colorado. Jack eventually returned to Qualls where he built JX Cattle Ranch and founded Rucker Construction Company. His love for horses led him to raise and race quarter horses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two siblings who died during childhood, and his sister Virginia Mae (Rucker) Kupsick.
Those left to remember him are his wife, Rena; son, Doc Rucker and wife Jan; daughters, Deborah Rucker, and Cyndi Jackson and husband Vann; grandchildren, Rebecca Guzman, Rendy Mattler, Jacob Ballard, Haleigh Jackson and Shelby Jackson; great–grandchildren, Aubrey Edwards and Jincy Mattler; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held at Green Country Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 13, at 10 a.m. Visitation will be Thursday, July 12, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Interment will follow in the Park Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at tahlequahfuneral.com.
