Tahlequah--Funeral services for George M Clark, 90 , of Tahlequah, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Go Ye Village Chapel with Dr. David Blake, Rev. Gary Woodson and Rev. Paul Tavener officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Park Cemetery in Glendale , Ariz. Services are under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
George Clark, son of the late George A Clark and Ludie (Locklear) Clark, was born August 15, 1911 in Vaughn, N.M., and departed this life Wednesday, April 3, 2002 in Tahlequah.
George married June Mildred (Eversole) Clark in Chicago, Ill., in 1938. George began his career in Clovis, N.M., employed by Fred Harvey of railroad dining car fame. He began printing the menus in the basement of the Harvey House in Clovis, N.M., and worked his way up to become the vice president of the company. George was a gentle and quiet man. He became a christian in his 20's and committed his life to serving his Lord. He taught himself to Greek so he could read the New Testament in the original language. George was a serious Bible student and taught Bible classes in several towns around Chicago. He and his wife sponsored the Glen Ellyn Bible Church youth fellowship for several years. Many of these young people became missionaries due to the Clark's influence. George loved the mission field and worked tirelessly to assist where he could. Those who knew his passion to serve the Lord will truly miss him. His parents, his wife June, three brothers and two sisters preceded George in death.
He is survived by one sister, Arlene Rudolph of Tahlequah; three nieces, Nadene Bell of Clovis, N.M., Joyce Fabec of Albuquerque, N.M., and Sherry Seckler of Peoria, Ill.; one nephew, Carl Rudolph of Long Beach, Calif.; his many friends at Moody Church and Go Ye Village; and a host of loved ones.
