Madaleine was born in Sycamore Ohio Aug. 28, 1907, to Frank and Helena Reilly Wensinger and died Saturday Dec. 22, 2001 in Muskogee.
Following her graduation from Ashland College in Ashland, Ohio, she began a career in social work as director of girls activities at a settlement house in Cleveland, Ohio. There she met George Bauer, who directed the boys activities and they married in Ashland on Sept. 16, 1929. Madaleine and George had two daughters. Cynthia and Susan. When their daughters were in high school Madaleine returned to the social work field. Over the years, she directed Girl Scout programs, Red Cross blood drives, and youth clubs, and she was a dedicated hospital volunteer in many communities where they lived. After George and Madaleine retired, they moved to Niles, Mich. where their daughter Cynthia lived. When George became ill Madaleine spent most of her time caring for her husband. Following the deaths of her husband and daughter, Cynthia, Madaleine moved to Tahlequah to be near her daughter Sue.
